The Bi-County Dental Society presented the Annual Joseph Ferraioli Memorial Lecture at Corning Headquarters Auditorium on March 18, 2009. This year’s series was titled “A Public-Private Partnership to Improve Oral Health.” This is one of the lectures provided that day by Steven J. Kerpen, DMD, MPH. Dr. Kerpen’s lecture is titled “Oral Care for the Pregnant Woman and Its Implications.”

If you want to prevent the dental disease, plaque control is utmost important. Primary oral care is the preventive measure for non-dideased teeth. It should be started just after or the timing at the baby tooth eruption. It has been showen by Prof. Axelsson that prevention can be possible for 70% of the children when they followed the program proposed. No single caries could be found even after 19 years of age.
